Echo Valley Meats began with David Alwan, a third-generation cattleman who learned the business from the ground up. His passion for quality took him from Midwest farmland to Europe to master smoked meats, eventually turning a small family market into a nationwide favorite.


Today, David and his son Jordan continue the tradition of honest work, great food, and feeding families the way they feed theirs.

THE STORY BEHIND ECHO VALLEY MEATS 

1947

Mason Alwan (1st Generation), Peoria IL

1957

William & Joe Alwan (2nd Generation) Alwan Bros. Inc. was created.

1990

David & Joe Alwan Jr. (3rd Generation) join the family business, Alwan Brothers & Sons.

1992

At 23, David purchases his first 150-acre farm, Echo Valley Farm, and starts to breed cattle.

1998

David Alwan branches off and creates Echo Valley Meats Inc.

2002

David trains as a Master Sausage Maker and cured/smoked meat specialist in Germany and Denmark.

2012

David auditions for the ABC hit show 'Shark Tank’, season 4, airing in 2013, Episode 422.

2014

Corporate Gifting and Mail Order begins.

2015

David is invited back on Shark Tank with his son Jordan to give his pitch a second time, leading to multiple offers, including a deal with Mark Cuban. Season 6, Episode 621.

2018

Echo Valley Meats partners with YETI to ship its meats in YETI brand of premium coolers for next level of gifting.

2024

Jordan (4th Generation) graduates from college and joins the family business.

2025

Echo Valley Meats expands its corporate gifting to include several premium partners.

2026

A New Chapter Awaits
